My work is all about the places and people who inspire me and feed my imagination. It traces real and imagined narratives that evoke character and location. Collage and relief printing are two of my preferred techniques, enabling me to interweave colour, texture and layering into my work, the palettes and cultural references absorbed during my travels serving as an important influence.

The collage series presented here, Letters from Venice, is an affectionate and poignant visual memoir of the years I spent living in Italy. Inspired by letters written to my parents during that time, it recounts some of my adventures and mishaps, but also conveys the magic of a city that is now suffering from the impact of mass tourism and climate change. It’s also a tribute to the people who played an important role in my life in Venice.
