OLGA EROKHOVA

Ever since I can remember myself I have always wanted to be a teacher. I was doing one-to-one English tutoring when I was studying at university in Moscow, but by the time I graduated as a teacher of English and German, surprisingly enough my mind had been changed and I did not want to be a school teacher any longer. Instead, as languages had always captivated me, I decided to meet people from all over the world and took the role of a project manager in event management sector. This job gave me a chance not only to enhance my English skills, but also to learn some Afrikaans and Dutch (apart from the Finnish language which I was trying to master on my own) and know more about different nations and their traditions.

During these 5 years I was travelling to the UK on and off to plunge in the country's culture and discover something new every time. Though when I was younger, I did not get any degree at art school and was doing figure skating together with dancing just as an amateur, I am highly interested in performing and visual arts, and have always included a visit to the theatre or a museum in my travel plans. When I finally moved to London and enrolled on a postgraduate programme in Media & Communication I wanted to change my career's direction, but ironically found myself in a corporate tourism sphere again. Nevertheless, this experience introduced me to hidden gems of the UK and helped to gain confidence in creating a new chapter of my life.

I am currently doing tutoring again and working on Russian/English versions of my father's website devoted to his vast collection of paintings. Further promotion on media platforms is in plan.
