ROSIE JOHNSON

I am a 2020 First Class Product and Furniture Design (BA) Hons graduate from Kingston School of Art. My degree has been spent pondering the role of design in peoples lives, in particular period product design. Much of my work reflects this and can be seen through my Cara project (see below) which is designed to tackle our outdated methods of sanitising a menstrual cup. This project was recognised by Fosters and Partners Industrial Design team for its potential. I am also skilled in furniture design, being a finalist in the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation Competition in 2020 for my Sling Chair (see below). I have shown work at the Young Furniture Makers Competition while working at an independent furniture and design store throughout my degree. I believe that we can use design to create a more equal and sustainable society which is my overall goal as a designer.
