The little things that surround me are an everyday inspiration, I use these surroundings in my endeavour to create my work. This outlook is a way of living, and to create something that in itself is a functional work of art is essential for me.

The things around us are ever-evolving, but by connecting to one’s day-to-day life, and the products within it, one can and be present. I believe the way we interact with products should engage our senses and therefore create a connection between user and object. Either through tactility or form-giving. I believe the connection derives from nature and its materials which inspire the senses and mindful living. This encourages the little things in our every day to be celebrated and honoured. It is the connection to nature that focuses me on a sustainable approach to my work as an active choice to make consumers and makers aware and positively a part of the environmental issues our world is facing, to me this should be a given.

My upbringing in the graphic design world has sharpened my eye and makes me sensitive to the shapes in my environment. Using the lines in nature and what surrounds me like a tracing paper. I magnify and minimise the graphics; I then blend my upbringing with my forte; giving the traced line a third dimension. In the initial steps I take in creating something new, I direct my attention to materials, textures, and forms to find patterns, in order to form my own inspired objects.

My approach to designs is grounded in organic and natural beginnings and with these foundations I create lifestyle objects.
