YIRAN GAO

As an undergraduate student in Oil Painting at Sichuan University, China, I have received training in oil painting, as well as other drawing techniques and media, from a wide range of classes at Sichuan University. 

Driven by my curiosity and spirit of exploration, I was also open to new attempts different from my traditional learning. Therefore, after my undergraduate degree, I studied illustration of Graduate Diploma in Creative Practice at Kingston University. Fortunately, I have achieved the distinction results in Graduate Diploma. Illustration helps me better present information in a way that doesn’t work as well with oil painting. I thought images generated in a more innovative way could have access to a wider audience in our modern society with more effective communication than before.

I will study MA Fine Art Printmaking at Camberwell School of Art in October 2020.  After the past year's study at Kingston University, I realize that I fascinated by testing various approaches to express myself and want to extend my creativity to a wider range of medium, technique, and facilities. Which makes me more looking forward to the study of Printmaking.
