West Yorkshire Music Network
The West Yorkshire Music Network represents everyone working in music across our region.
West Yorkshire is brimming with talent. Talent that deserves a united voice. Talent that deserves joined-up support from all the key players – from freelancers and venues to communities and supply chains. That is what the Music Network offers.
What is the Music Network?
The West Yorkshire Combined Authority has partnered with Leeds Conservatoire, Come Play With Me and CREATE Britain to support and drive growth across the region’s creative sector.
The Music Network connects music sector professionals of all kinds. It’s a place to share knowledge, spark new ideas, and collaborate on creative projects. It reflects the incredible diversity, innovation and creativity of music in our region.
What is the Music Network for?
We want to amplify West Yorkshire’s music scene, and that means getting everyone in the sector to get involved. Together, we have a louder voice to speak to national organisations, pursue funding opportunities, and shout about our projects.
If it’s going to represent all of us, the Music Network needs to be as diverse as the activities that take place here. We encourage everyone in the sector to join up and participate.
Our Goals
- Listen closely to local music sector professionals and map their needs.
- Connect network participants with each other to spark discourse and opportunities.
- Share best practices between members and offer them support to grow their business.
- Be the voice of West Yorkshire’s music professionals to national and international bodies, government, and businesses.
- Champion the economic strength of our music sector to attract inward investment and opportunities.
- Partner with existing networks in music-adjacent fields like TV, gaming, and health .
This is a WYCA initiative as part of 'You Can Make It Here' support package, lead by Leeds Conservatoire, Come Play With Me and CREATE Britain.
