Adam McDade

I am an illustrator by background, and have worked with clients such as Misfit Press, The Northern Correspondent, NESTA, and the University of Valencia. In May 2017 i began a tattooing apprenticeship at internationally award-winning, "Triplesix Studios' in Sunderland, where I work as a tattooist.

Since October 2017, I have been a PhD student in design at the University of Sunderland, where I utilise my tattooing experience to elucidate on the process of tattoo production and the role of the tattooist. I have delivered lectures in national and international contexts, including Los Angeles, USA, and Bali, Indonesia, in addition to publishing my work in academic journals (Craft Research).
