For me art is important as I plan to work in the industry of art and become an architect. Besides that I want to become a tattoo artist as a hobby or side hustle.
I always had a passion for art, I just did not realise it. For example I did different courses in the creative industry. First it was dance but after about 6 years I gave up. Then I started going to an art club after school but didn't enjoy it much. However, I kept doing art in school and enjoyed it much more there. We also had a trip to a place in Romania to get more inspired which helped a lot and was very enriching and the architecture of the churches was amazing.
Taking art for my GCSEs was intentional and I was not planning it. I could not do the subject I picked and got suggested I should pick art. During my GCSEs years I developed and experienced different styles, for example distortion created by the artist Henrietta Harris which I really like, portraits which is challenging but combined with distortion it makes it so much better. During this time I also tried drawing buildings using biro in which I think I performed quite well.
Furthermore this gave me the idea of becoming an architect and I think that even though it is a hard job and I have to study a long time I am willing to put in the effort. Meanwhile during covid time I started buying henna and trying to do designs with it as if it was a tattoo. This really started a bad habit of mine of drawing on my hands with a pen while at school.
As well as during summer I discovered my interest in beauty and doing nails however I decided to stick with art and applied to the college. I am pretty confident with my future plans however I still haven't decided what type of architect I want to become. For example, I’m interested in landscape architecture or even interior design.
