Cleopatra Arthur

I’m Cleopatra Arthur, I was born and raised in Italy but I’m of Ghanaian ethnicity.I’m part of a youth group called Victory Youth Group which is a place for young people that are struggling in some way. This might be due to  mental health concerns, family, faith or any issue they are facing. VYG has people to support the youth to overcome any struggle. We usually have a lot of events which include free live performances about issues faced by teens in our generation and I’ve been part of this since Spring 2023.

This has helped me a lot with acting development and also building my confidence when performing publicly. As a Leeds City College student I’ve had many opportunities to be part of performances in college for teachers, other students and friends and family.

I’ve had a lot of experience in naturalistic acting and I would consider that a style I’m confident with. I’ve been in college performances that include physical theatre as well, such as ‘Darling you were marvellous’ which was an ensemble piece incorporating movement, mime and being in sync. We also did another ensemble performance called ‘Scuttlers’ which involved a couple lifts and fighting scenes. As a performer I aspire to be part of comedy and fiction productions for film but to also further develop my writing skills and create some of my own work relating to the experiences I’ve had in life.
