I was given talent, and if you are given it, it is your obligation to use it.
His career as a playwright began in 1965 with The Confidence Course, which had started life as a novel. He is perhaps best known for his BBC serials Pennies from Heaven (1978) and The Singing Detective (1986).
Potter's position and status are well earned, with a body of work widely regarded as some of the most influential and innovative in British television drama.
The trouble with words is that you never know whose mouth they have been in.
