Nathan Simpson

Hello my name is Nathan Simpson, I am from the north east of England and currently studying my 3rd/last year of BA Hons Screen Performance at the University of Sunderland. I have wanted to be an actor from a very young age and was inspired mostly by watching TV and Film. Watching TV series such as Doctor Who made me think about how amazing it would be to play The Doctor and then characters like him. My passion for acting lead me to study Drama GCSE at Queen Elizabeth High School followed by Drama and Theatre Studies A-Level at Queen Elizabeth High School 6FORM. I also attended many short courses at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. After taking a gap year I joined the BA Hons Screen Performance at the University of Sunderland. Shortly after joining university I joined the Actors Equity. My years studying acting and performing have further strengthened my love of acting. When I have completed my 3rd year of study at university I will be venturing out into the acting world and would love to do a broad range of acting as I have personally enjoyed stories and the performances within them across the media including Stage, TV, Film, Short Film, Video Games, Voice over, in particular, Nolan North as Nathan Drake in the Uncharted video game series, David Tennent as the doctor in Doctor Who, Tom Hanks as Woody in the Toy story films as well as Chris Evans as Captain America in all of the MARVEL Cinematic Universe Films. At the end of the day, I just want to do what I love best and that is to act and I’m happy to do that across any media. In recent times, after a few difficult years, I think we have all come to appreciate the arts more and more as for many it has been a wonderful escape from the difficulties and stress in everyday life, so I hope to be at least part of the creative process that gives little bit of escapism for people dealing with what ever struggles life has thrown their way.
