Anchita is a designer who aims to explore ways to bridge the gap between traditional arts and street culture in India. While studying fashion designing, Anchita worked on projects that broadened her understanding of textile art like backstrap loom weaving, Bandhani, tie-dye, hand block printing, Indigo dyeing. Her designs lean towards a gender-fluid direction, often oversized and comfort-driven. She has explored different mediums as a form of expression like Photography, videos, Art pieces using wax, resin, to name a few.
Home: the space in between/ Graduate collection
The project explores transparency, vulnerability, and transiency, becoming a safe space or " home." The collection features upcycled materials like threads, fabric scraps, garbage bags, bubble wrap, and onion peels.
