I write and I run. That's probably the simplest way to put it. Two passions that at first glance seem completely unrelated, which I agree with, there is very little that links my two passions together, but that doesn't mean there's nothing at all.

I've wanted to create stories for many years now, I remember the first time investing myself into the fantasy worlds of the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter movies as a child, being left speechless by the worldbuilding, attention to detail, the characters, every aspect of the stories told within these worlds. Of course I had seen other movies before then, but these movies, particularly the Lord of the Rings trilogy made it certain, I wanted to create stories.

Meanwhile fast forward to 2019 and my I remember my Dad approaching me one day, asking me if I wanted to participate in a weekly Saturday event known as Parkrun. A new one had just been established in my home town, but I had never even heard of the event before that point. I obviously agreed to join in, but never expected it to change my life the way it did. From the moment that run began I knew this was the sport for me. Since then I've thrown myself into any opportunities that approach me, whether it be races, training, volunteering, anything I'm available for and I want to do it. My running journey is still in its early stages, but I can already sense it's going to be one grand journey.

If I had to find a way to link these two passions together, it would be that a run can flow just like a story, one you would read in a novel or watch in a movie or TV series. Every run is different and the highs and lows can come at any point, sometimes you face an unexpected twist, sometimes the going gets tough and you just want to stop, sometimes there are crowds roaring to keep you going, sometimes you're surrounded by the quiet beauty of nature. No two runs are the same, each and every run brings a new story, perhaps that's why I fell in love with it so quickly?

So that's who I am, that's what I love and that's how I got to this point now, sharing my passions with you all.
