Betty Jackson, CBE is a fashion designer based in London. She is known for designing many of the outrageous costumes worn by Edina and Patsy on the 1990s hit television comedy Absolutely Fabulous.
Clothes shouldn't trouble you – you should put them on and feel fabulous. I can't bear things you need to be fiddling with, because clothes should work for you rather than demand attention. Women don't want to feel trussed up.
Her achievements and significant contribution to British fashion were first recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours 1987, when she was awarded an MBE. In 2007, she was awarded with a CBE for services to the fashion industry.
I love bright colour and print on other people, but I only ever wear black. It's partly laziness and also because I want things to be simple and not take too much time. I prefer to be anonymous and not stand out.
