The Solent region is a recognised Creative Industries growth cluster - home to 4,500 businesses and 40,000 jobs, and with around 16,000 students studying Creative Industry subjects across our three universities.
The Solent Creative Industries make a significant contribution to the regional economy, generating £1.5bn gross value added (GVA measure of the value of goods and services produced) annually.
CREATE Solent is backed by Solent Partners, which works with businesses, academic organisations and civic leaders to promote the collective prosperity and sustainability of the Solent economy. A thriving visitor, creative and cultural economy is one of the priorities outlined in the Solent 2050 Strategy.
Establishing CREATE Solent as a business ecosystem for the creative industries benefits the creative sector, those working in creative roles, and students studying creative industry subjects. It promotes the regional economy by developing a world-class talent base which helps people at all stages of their career build their skills, and creates an outstanding business environment that encourages innovation and fosters collaboration.
