I have been nurturing creative potentail in others for 25years during this time I have worked with people of all ages and abilities in the areas of Education, Wellbeing and Celebration.

EDUCATION

I create educational projects to facilitate more memorable and enjoyable learning experiences.

I run inspirational and inclusive workshops, courses and events which involve various art forms; ceramics, felt making, print making, willow sculptures, carnival lanterns and puppets, textiles, tapestries and murals, drawing and painting, glass fusing, rag work, coiled basketry, silk painting and book making.

I have previously worked with most of my local Nursery, Primary and Secondary schools, Adult Youth Clubs, Education Centres, Outdoor Centres, Hospitals, Village Halls, Arts Centres and Colleges, Cumbria County Council - INSET for Primary School Teachers. South Lakes Federation of Schools - Hard to reach young people, school excluded and school refusers. I have worked with young offenders and young carers and young people with issues of around anxiety, self harm and suicide.- Kendal College, Lancaster and Morcambe College Community and Lancaster and Morcambe Colleges,Youth clubs - Shap and Langdale and Home Schoolers.

WELL BEING

I design suitable arts activities for groups that require a more therapeutic environment to enhance their well being. Encouraging wellbeing through opportunities for creative expression, giving people the tools to be confident participators and find a voice through their creativity, regardless of existing skills or talents. I have worked with many specific health and protected characteristic groups.

Birthwaite - Residential Care Home, Sight Advice - Blind and Partially Sighted Charity,  Manna House - Homeless and Vulnerably Housed Charity, Springfield - Domestic Violence Charity, South Lakes Alzheimer’s Society - Group for those living with dementia and their care givers, Cancer Care - Group for those living with Cancer and their care givers, Learning disabled adults and children.

Dementia Sessions are a supportive opportunity to learn new skills, gain confidence, increase social interaction and enjoy 'being in the moment'. It’s not about lost abilities and reminiscence, but giving people the chance to explore new skills and be creative.

CELEBRATION

I facilitate events activities for families at Festivals, County Shows, Processions and Carnivals. Art Installations can transform your environment with a mural or creative installation.
“Participants surprise themselves with what they are able to achieve and experience the fun and sheer joy of being creative. This was evident in the 'sheep making' workshops with local people, schools and the businesses in Sedbergh during the run up to the Sheep Fest Event.”
