I am a student studying performing arts at Sunderland College. Performance is a subject that through my studies over the years has taught me confidence, good communication, and an objective and analytical way of viewing not only theatre, but also any literature, media, or even social/political issues within the performance. I have had a love for the performing arts for as long as I can remember, having consistently studied musical theatre. Theres never been anything else I wanted to do apart from perform, my favourite thing is being able to become anybody you want to be, something that is constantly changing, this is what interests me most about the subject. Performing explores the whole range of human emotion and can produce exceptional pieces through the capability of performers to express themselves as somebody else. The most profound thing to me when studying theatre is that you can become any person in the entire world, and still be you. In reality I have always been considered a quiet and shy individual but when stepping on the stage; embodying a character, it allows me to totally step out of my comfort zone. I enjoy creating devised pieces and creating accordingly a completely original character. When receiving a script or piece of choreography, I revel in becoming another person, learning their likes and dislikes, their habits and thoughts. Professional companies / freelancers I have worked with:Theatre Space Northeast, Southpaw Dance Company, Happily Ever After, Let it Snow productions, Jennifer Foulds, Kirsty Wilson, Mischief Company. Venues I have performed at outside of the theatre: The Point, Firestation, Hylton Castle, Flashmob in The Bridges and at Sunniside.
