Emily’s creative practice tends to focus on questioning the relationship between the physicality and immateriality of photography. Through interventions using multimedia methods such as embroidery, drawing, painting and origami she gives a physical element and another dimension to her photographs.
Alongside this, Emily focuses her subject matter on photographing flora and fauna to help viewers see the smaller beauties in life that are often overlooked. By combining the intricate details found in nature and the delicate craftsmanship of the handmade textures this allows her to accomplish this.
