Jacob Shipley

Student music producer studying a (BA)Hons in Music Production at Leeds Beckett university - I have just completed my 2nd year, in which I specialised in Studio recording & Live sound engineering.

I am now taking a 'Sandwich Year' out from University to work on my individual career as a producer - taking up contracts, commissions and also working as a self-employed producer, recording engineer and live sound engineer.

Experience I have in music is predominantly based on university and personal production projects; ranging from developing individual songs and albums, to working on live concerts in the Student Union venue. However, I have industry experience as a producer and recording engineer as well as some experience as a radio co-host at my hometown 'Rossendale Radio'.

I am currently working as co-producer for producer and songwriter Ark's coming album 'CNTRST'; and I am also hoping to work as FOH sound engineer for the "Leeds 2023: Year of Culture" this summertime. Additionally I plan on working regular voluntary shifts with 'Cloth Cat' Leeds charity, focused on using music to bring interactive programmes of inclusive, practical and fun music courses, events and projects to support those who attend.

As a producer/artist I aim to focus the majority of my work on the concept of community and collaboration. Working with others towards something passionate and beautifully creative is at the core of what I love to do.
