JK Rowling, OBE is one of the most successful authors to date, penning the hugely popular Harry Potter series of books (The Harry Potter brand is worth an estimated £12 billion globally).
In addition to writing, Rowling is a film and television producer, screenwriter and philanthropist.
I’ve been writing since I was six. It is a compulsion, so I can’t really say where the desire came from; I’ve always had it. My breakthrough with the first book came through persistence because a lot of publishers turned it down!
In 2012 she wrote the novel The Casual Vacancy, under the pen name of Robert Galbraith followed by the crime novel Cuckoo Calling which has been adapted into a tv series.
Imagination is the foundation of all invention and innovation. Sometimes, you have to stop trying to force it, walk away and let your subconscious show you the way.
