Jules

My name is Jules Hornby and I am an actress from West Yorkshire. I am currently studying  at Leeds City College on the BTEC Level 3 Acting course allowing me to develop and widen my acting skills. I currently hold a distinction three star GCSE in acting.

I currently train at Northern Lights Dance Academy and have been a member of this academy  for twelve years. Through this I have competed at a range of competitions achieving first, second and fourth place and have performed in galas, shows and a dancing reenactment of “Alice in wonderland” at Wakefield Theatre.

Through my experience in acting, I have performed at the Shakespeare Festival in Wakefield Theatre as “Maria” in Twelfth Night. I have also toured an educational performance about spiking around different high schools helping me develop my improvisational skills. I am skilled in Naturalism and Physical theatre, as through my training I have studied these methods in great depth. I have lots of experience in theatre acting and have performed in the Shakespeare Festival as Maria in Twelfth Night and have knowledge on how the industry works.

I have experience in screen acting and am looking to develop this skill further.I am a very independent person and obtain the skill of devising as I am very good with solo work and hold great leadership skills. I have written my own script “The Effect” and devised a fifteen minute piece in a small group called Harriet Pinter is dead. Aswell as this i have performed in a mix up of the play Scuttlers and Dahling you were marvellous. Giving me the opportunity to perform with a range of different methods.

As a performer I have the aspiration to hopefully further my career as an actress gaining mainly theatre roles however, I will not object to screen acting roles and I would like to also become a drama teacher in colleges whilst still acting on the side.
