Kate Newman is an eclectic photographer who enjoys experimenting with a wide range of subject matter from landscape to portraiture.
Having originally studied fine art, she takes delight in the detail of colour, whether bold or more subtle, producing both aesthetically balanced studies as well as contemporary contrasts.
Newman is equally comfortable with monochrome and is able to explore the depth of this medium through her artistic use of shadow and light.
An important aspect of Newman's work is the engagement of meaning whether in terms of harmonious beauty or discordant. imperfection.
The more controversial context is an area of composition that she is currently developing following the transgressive theme to challenge both herself and her audience.
