Katie’s work is primarily concerned with the unusual and horrific. Through themes such as the surreal and the uncanny, Katie responds to social issues, as well as the darker aspects intrinsically tied to life such as the many forms of fear, from worries about monsters under the bed to the lingering, debilitating terrors of the existential unknown. Her work explores life in a deeply unique way, bringing forth a striking account of aspects of existence that are often deemed too improper to be expressed.
