SYDBYSYD

I am SYDBYSYD (but you can call me Syd!), and I am alternatively called Temple MS10. I specialise in composing and producing music with synthesisers and digital sound techniques.

When I am Syd, I create all manner of musical things, songs, soundscapes, ambient works, synthesiser arrangements trying to pretend to be rather weird orchestras, etc., and there is a lot of emphasis on WEIRD, but not always so... Confused? No, you're not, I am. There is a lot of variety in my collection of recordings and videos, because I am a very restless soul on the creative level.

As Temple MS10, I focus on my most abstract sound creations: mainly, the Temple MS10 material is a mix of sounds, sound effects, and music.

I am to be found on Bandcamp as SYDBYSYD, with a number of albums there. I reckon my best album is the one called 2020 Vision, which is mostly songs, very 'left-field', or as I prefer to call it, 'Weird'... But each album seems to go in rather different directions. I have a very large number of videos on YouTube, some of which feature full-blown computer animations.

Temple MS10 also appears on YouTube (on the Syd bySyd YouTube channel). Also I have a number of compositions on Pond 5, for media companies to peruse for their trillion dollar epic movies and TV series, etc..... I reckon I have made about 12 US dollars from my presence on Pond 5, and have therefore ditched the day-time job - see you on the beaches of the world, as they say.

I also occasionally do collaborative work, and the most notable stuff is my collabs with a musician called Simon, in a 'virtual band' called Achzeit, (pronounced Ark-site). We have also created some material under the name The Green Ceiling, and both Achzeit and Green Ceiling can be found on Achzeit's own YouTube channel. More weird stuff, and with Achzeit there's often some humour. Achzeit also appear on Bandcamp with two albums to date. One is called Spirit of the Time, and some tracks have had radio play, thanks to DJ Mr G, and one of our Achzeit followers!

All my music is entirely composed and produced by me in my humble studio. Techniques include sequencing and digital audio tracks, where some tracks are created by 'step-time' sequencing, and others by playing keyboards onto the recordings, whether MIDI or digital audio. Also my videos are entirely created by myself, using my own computer animations that I created with applications, camera recordings, and so on.

I'm always happiest recording music, and exploring what new, odd effect music can produce in the hearts and minds of the listeners. I most enjoy the completion of an album and love to think that people out there somewhere are listening to the material. I believe that an individual musician, making one's own rules throughout the creative processes carries one's own unique id print in the music, and so I believe there is always something that says 'this is Syd / Temple MS10 / Achzeit' in there.

I would love to think more people will listen in, and I would be very happy to see a dance company use some of the material, bringing a new dimension to it. Now, where do I get my sanity back...
