Michael Condron

I’m a sculptor whose principal aim is to make artwork that belongs to its place.

My practice focuses on landmark public artworks, founded on a collaborative creative process.

I construct in metal, making permanent artworks that are immediately accessible, working as a striking feature from a distance, and containing layers of detail and tactile qualities that may be discovered on subsequent viewings and closer inspection.

The Martian was my first major commission, celebrating HG Wells' The War of the Worlds.  I've since completed commissions in a wide range of settings.
