Polly Dobson

I am currently studying Technical Theatre and Stage Management at the University Centre of Leeds, having finished studying Theatre Design and Production at Leeds City College, specialising in Stage Management. I am a very organised person and enjoy taking on challenging jobs as they can help me improve my skills. For me, theatre has always been an escape from the outside world, so being able to work in this industry brings me a lot of joy as I love being able to bring a team together to put on an amazing show.

Whilst training I have been lucky enough to go on placement with some amzing theatre companies such as Tutti Frutti Productions and Leeds Conservatoire. With Lcon, I worked as an ASM for 3 of their 3rd year musicals and with Tutti, I have helped opened a UK tour and worked on a Leeds Library tour.

I am also a part of a local Gilbert and Sulllivan society where I have stuck backstage and volunteered as front of house for several years. G&S has been a part of my family for decades which is why I was delighted to work on the International G&S festival in 2023 as Stage Manager for the Youth Production.

Outside of theatre I was a part of Girl Guiding for just over 11 years where I learnt many useful skills and helped out with their adventure weekends. During my time I also managed to complete the Baden Powell Award.
