For me, design is a superpower. It brings humour and playfulness to the foreground of daily life. It is about seeing the beauty in the ordinary, but equally the wonder of the unconventional yet functional. It celebrates simplicity and evokes the senses to make us feel joy inside. 

The kaleidoscope of variation is what defines the urban environment around us; the wonderland of shapes, textures, functionality is what inspires my practice. It is vital to have fun! Life is full of laughter, rhythm, culture and brilliance. So why not remind us of this through the things that we use? The design company Droog introduced me to the power of comedy through design. As a designer, I hope to add a moment of laughter or at least a tiny smirk with my unusual and inventive connection of familiar ideas. 

Being open minded, willing to explore, experiment and getting things wrong facilitates this. Design takes patience, it is not achieved on impulse. Instead it is a collection of small moments and reflections refined to create the ultimate great idea. 

An original thinker and emotive creator, my design process follows four principles; curiosity, resourcefulness, sentimentality and fun.
