I originally trained as a Designer/Illustrator and worked in the automative industry for a number of years. I came to realise my true passion was experimenting with colour and realising the visual impact it can deliver when applied with a little thought and care. Having the artistic freedom to create and develop images that are not only fascinating but thought provoking I've found much more rewarding. My inspiration comes from the colours themselves and how different pigments and mediums react with each other. I discovered 'Fluid Art' by accident online and as I delved deeper into this aspect of modern abstract Art I was constantly being shocked and amazed by the colourful and intricate designs that were materialising. I started producing work that I could never have imagined and certainly never painted using traditional brushes. The subtle blends of colour and the complicated structuring of the paintwork was far beyond anything I could have possibly visualised. I thought I had reached the summit of artistic complexity but then discovered I could actually take the whole process much further. Thanks to the invention of modern computer software I started taking samples of my artwork and digitally editing them. The parts of my artwork I found most interesting were soon being cropped, copied, reflected, merged and scaled in a way that created a whole new world of idea's and possibilities. To be honest, deep down I know that I'm still only scratching the surface so I'll keep painting and keep digitally manipulating and I'll try to keep uploading my progress on this site now that I've signed up.
