I am a Fashion Design graduate at Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD), who has a great passion for research and fashion illustrations. I am enthusiastic about studying power structures in history and challenging the norms on gender equality and women's rights. Fashion has enabled me to work on various aspects like sustainability, crafts, techniques, problem-solving and follow different design processes as per the ask. The course of study, the graduate collection and various industry and internship practices gained in my studies has prepared me to work with an open mind flexible with ideas, time and hard work.
The current theme and concept of my work are based on mocking the domestic training and taming the girl child in India is given, and as she grows to become a woman. "The Ivory Throne" by Manu S. Pillai has remained the inspiration behind the concept. With the tone of humour and sarcasm in exploring forms and combining it with the cultural context studied, the collection represents a modern take on the challenges of womanhood existing in India.
